then last or first name. If the family name is not the last name, please indicate
clearly.
To prevent possible delays when registering at the Beijing International Convention
Center, we strongly recommend that you forward a photograph with a copy of your
registration form, to IMMS (see contact details above). Photographs may be submitted
electronically (JPEG or bmp format) or by mail to IMMS.
This will allow for identification badges to be prepared in advance so as to
expedite the on-site registration process in Beijing

On-Site Registration
All participants must check in at
the on-site registration desk to obtain identification badges and related
Assembly information. Invitations to social events will be issued at this
time.
As Assembly identification badges will include
a photograph, all participants must submit a photograph or be photographed
on-site to obtain their badges.
To expedite initial entrance to the registration area at the BICC and subsequent
registration procedures, participants are required to have their passports,
or other means of national identification readily available, as well as a
copy of their note or letter of accreditation.
The registration desk will be open at the following

Accreditation
The Instrument for the Establishment of the Restructured GEF provides
that each Participant State may appoint one Representative and one Alternate
to the Assembly in such a manner as it may determine. Each government is therefore
invited to nominate its Representative, Alternate, and advisors who will attend
the meeting.
In accordance with rule 6 of the Rules of Procedure
for the GEF Assembly, the credentials of Representatives and the names of Alternates
and advisors are to be submitted to the CEO no less than three days before the
first session of the Assembly that they are to attend. The Bureau is to examine
the credentials and submit a report thereon to the Assembly.

or must be changed after October 1, 2002, the information should be communicated

NGO
Accreditation
Only representatives of accredited NGOs may observe the Assembly. Representatives
of NGOs seeking accreditation should write to Ms.
Bonizella Biagini, Senior Environmental Specialist/ NGO Coordinator,
at the GEF Secretariat (Fax: [1] (202) 522-3240; Telephone: [1](202) 458-7506;
E-mail:bbiagini@worldbank.org) by
September 20, 2002. Requests for accreditation and a registration form
is available from the GEF Secretariat and on the GEF Assembly website (www.gefweb.org/assembly).
In order to obtain the identification badges at the BICC (see On-Site
Registration), participants will require identification and a letter from
the Chief Executive Officer of their organization, attesting that the individual
is representing an accredited organization. Each organization may register up
to four representatives.

Media
Accreditation
Journalists who wish to be accredited to
the GEF Assembly should contact Mr. Hutton Archer, Senior External Relations
Coordinator, at the GEF Secretariat before September 20, 2002. (Fax:

All members of the media who wish to cover the Assembly are required to complete
the Media Accreditation form (MS
Word Format, PDF Format)
and the Temporary Importation Form for Media Equipment (MS
Word Format, PDF Format). Applications
should be accompanied with a signed letter of confirmation from the reporter's
editor-in-chief or publisher. The deadline for media accreditation is September
20, 2002.
